Hamburg was a whirlwind adventure. We got in late Tuesday night and were so tired from our kindergarten adventure that we ate dinner and went back to the hostel to crash. Wednesday was a different day. We had so much fun.

We started the day with a walking tour of the city. Hamburg is a major port city. The wind coming off the water was freezing. But the city was gorgeous.

This church was bombed in World War II. They never rebuilt it and instead left it as a memorial to the citizens of Hamburg that we're killed.

After the tour we went to lunch with some friends we made. It as an interesting group of people. Two French Canadians, one Finnish, three Aussies, and three Americans. After lunch we went to the miniature wonderland. Google it. It was crazy. The attention to detail was astounding.

It's a giant model train exhibit. The trains traveled through different countries and different eras. It was a tiny bit overwhelming, but extremely cool.

Here are some of our friends for the day. Every one of them has been or will be traveling for four or more months. I cant imagine. Crazy.

We saw some amazing playgrounds yesterday. They all seemed to have a nautical theme. There were giant ropes to climb.

Random wooded hippos. (which I realize aren't nautical, but they are fun.)

And more wooden structures with tall slides. I will put more playground pics of the tumblr page.

It's EuroCup time here in Europe ad the county pride is staggering! Last night Germany played the Netherlands. They had a Kia fan fest in the same park as one of the playgrounds we were viewing. They were expecting over 30,000 people. We stopped by for a few minutes. I could not stop openly gawking at the shenanigans people were pulling.

We left because we wanted to watch the game a little closer to the hostel just in case something crazy happened. Plus, they were a young crowd and we are now in our 30s. Waaa, waaa, waaa. We found a square with people closer to our age and watched the game there.

Germany won and I had a blast! We met one of the girls who works at our hotel and after convincing her that we weren't creepy, she totally wanted to be best friends with us. I mean, who wouldn't?

Today we head to Cologne. I'm excited to see what everyone describes as the most impressive cathedral in Germany.
